My work during this period was rooted in ideas of desire, play, and the idealism of Suburbia. I used abstract shapes comprised of the instructional diagrams from Hot Wheels Playsets to interupt suburban tableau. One result I aimed for was to slow down the viewer's experience. This piece is small and fragile-looking, and uses the wall as its substrate. The scale is a direct reference to the toys that are its source.
